Clay to become heavyweight Ali once again!

Muhammad will soon emerge triumphant as a new heavyweight champion as he leaves the foundry in bronze. I’ve spent some time working on the finished clay, which almost as his younger self Cassius Clay, needed a little more time to mature and become the true likeness of the man who went on to dominate heavyweight boxing in his era. Ali is my first sportsman – and who better to start with than this true icon of his profession.

Clay slowly turns to Ali!

If you’ll forgive the play on words this is very much where the transition between Clay and Ali begins to take place. More and more work will bring out the likeness as I dance around Muhanmmad, placing the occasional thrust and jab at his face – more than many achieved in his career

Speak to me…

The Press have taken to Marilyn even if Linda hasn’t quite finished with her. The bust that was unveiled at the recent event in Bournemouth Pavilion is yet to have its finishing touches applied which will impart the true essence of the star as Linda wishes to portray her. This will involve fine tuning some of her delicate features to ensure the Hollywood icon’s elusive expression is just right. Linda says, ‘Marilyn is such a beautiful woman I need her to speak to me before I’m truly happy enough to send her to become a...

Shards sharper than ever!

With the grand opening of the Shards exhibition, jointly curated by Linda Joyce and Rishi Ludgate, it came as little surprise that at least one of the participating artists took over £1000 within the first hour of the exhibition being open. A great exhibition and a superb showcase for emerging talent. Why not get along there whilst there’s still time? Shards is open at the Bournemouth International Centre until August 31st.

Waxing lyrical!

Jimi has been keeping good company in my studio, first Amy, now Marilyn; although she was feeling a little shy, as she has not yet had her hair done. I’ve been doing the hand finishing on Jimj in wax form, before he goes to the foundry for the final phase of the lost wax process. Soon we’ll see his metal..

Look sharp for Shards!

Don’t forget that Janis Winehouse, Amy’s mother, will open the Shards exhibition in Bournemouth this year. ‘Shards Art Exhibition is back again for August 2014 at the Bournemouth International Centre. It is one of the largest art exhibitions to be held on the south coast. It was such a success last year that the BIC have invited Linda and Rishi the Curators, to repeat it again this year and have also secured  them already  for 2015.’ Check that the date is in your diary now and makes sure you catch up with me and all...
