James has finally  touched gold again with Linda’s latest finished sculpture. The bust which is currently in clay and finished in simulated bronze burnished-gold patina represents how the twelve limited edition bronzes will appear after hand-finishing by Linda. Hunting for a true likeness

James Hunt is well on the way to regaining his crown as a true champion as Linda continually works on his features to achieve the greatest likeness. As with all great achievements, such as James Hunt’s own, perfection is only reached through dedication and hard work. Amy in Beverly Hills Pawn

Linda’s second stunning bronze of Amy Winehouse has found its way onto the hit U.S. TV show, Beverly Hills Pawn, where the host Yossi Dina laments not buying the bronze after offering a price that was way too low for this limited edition of an icon. Take a look at the video clip from the show:

No it’s not a helmet!

This armature lends something to what it will become in more than one way – it hints at the profession of the famous sportsman who spent much of his life in a hard hat. Linda is currently sculpting him at  SHARDS exhibition in Bournemouth International Centre until the end of August. Why not pop along and see if you can guess who he’ll become. Watch this space as he races ahead.

In my Life

In my Life

Well, John is finished in clay and merely awaits his own personal journey to the foundry. It’s been a journey for me as well and I’ve often thought back to events in both my and John’s life that, for him, lead to his tragic departure from us – reminiscent perhaps of the lines from his song ‘In my Life’ which go…   Though I know I’ll never lose affection, For people and things that went before, I know I’ll often stop and think about them, In my life I love you more.   I hope...

Look at me

Look at me. Who am I supposed to be? Who am I supposed to be? The lyrics from Lennon’s song on his solo debut album rather sum up the task that I have before me – to capture the wistful intelligence of this great master of his time whilst blending it with the avant garde and sometimes wild nature of his character. I’m also puzzling over his clothing, his hairstyle and the final expression that sings to me – no pressure then… Definitely work in...

We Can Work It Out…

I’ve just embarked on a bust of John Lennon and its fascinating how many evolutions of appearance he went through during his illustrious but ultimately tragic life. Apart from the iconic spectacles, John had quite fine features and a delicate Roman nose, often obscured by beard and long unkempt hairstyle. Many will have differing memories of John but I think I’m setting out to achieve the more ‘recent’ and enduring image of him, as he was for the recording of his iconic album, Imagine. Together I’m sure we can...

Clay to become heavyweight Ali once again!

Muhammad will soon emerge triumphant as a new heavyweight champion as he leaves the foundry in bronze. I’ve spent some time working on the finished clay, which almost as his younger self Cassius Clay, needed a little more time to mature and become the true likeness of the man who went on to dominate heavyweight boxing in his era. Ali is my first sportsman – and who better to start with than this true icon of his profession.
